Daydream Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 27, 2026
Daydream Intelligence, Inc. ("Daydream," "we," "us," or "our") provides digital companion experiences that may remember information you choose to share, interact through text, voice, images, animation, and screen-aware features, and reach out through notifications (collectively, the "Services").
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and otherwise process personal information when you use our websites, mobile or desktop applications, companion experiences, and related services, or otherwise interact with us. It also describes your privacy rights and choices.
By using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Services.
1. Personal Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you use Daydream, the permissions you grant, and the features you enable.
Information you provide to us
- Account and profile information. Your name, email address, login credentials or authentication identifiers, age or date of birth where requested, profile image, display name, country or region, and account preferences.
- Conversations and other interaction content. Messages, prompts, responses, feedback, reactions, and other content you submit to or exchange with a Daydream companion.
- Memories, preferences, and relationship context. Information you ask a companion to remember, such as your interests, routines, relationships, goals, important dates, likes and dislikes, and preferred ways of interacting. Daydream may also create summaries or inferences from your interactions to personalize the Services, such as inferred interests or communication preferences.
- Voice, image, video, and screen content. Audio recordings and transcripts, photos and images, camera input, and content visible on your screen when you affirmatively enable a voice, camera, photo, screen-sharing, screen-aware, or similar feature. This content may incidentally include information about other people or content from third-party apps.
- Goals and wellbeing information. Goals, habits, reflections, mood, or other personal information you voluntarily share. Depending on what you choose to disclose, this information may reveal sensitive information, including information about physical or mental health, beliefs, sexuality, or relationships.
- Communications with us. Information you provide when contacting support, reporting a problem, participating in a survey or research study, applying for a job, joining a waitlist, or otherwise communicating with us.
- Payment and subscription information. Information about purchases, subscriptions, and transaction status. Payments may be processed by an app store or payment provider. Daydream generally does not receive complete payment card details.
- Information about other people. You may choose to provide information about friends, family, or other people in your conversations. Please share another person's information only when you have the right to do so.
Information collected automatically
When you use the Services, we and our service providers may automatically collect:
- Device and network information, such as device type, operating system, browser type, app version, language, IP address, mobile carrier, device identifiers, and approximate location inferred from IP address.
- Usage information, such as features used, pages or screens viewed, links clicked, session duration, interaction timestamps, notification interactions, referring pages, and app performance.
- Diagnostic and security information, such as crash reports, error logs, authentication events, fraud signals, and records used to protect the Services.
- Cookie and similar technology data, as described in Section 8.
We do not collect precise geolocation, microphone input, camera input, photos, or screen content unless you grant the relevant permission or affirmatively use a feature that requires it.
Information from third parties
We may receive personal information from:
- Authentication providers, such as Apple or Google, when you use a third-party sign-in method;
- App stores and payment providers, such as subscription status, purchase confirmation, and limited transaction information;
- Connected services, when you choose to connect an app, account, calendar, or other service to Daydream;
- Analytics, attribution, security, and infrastructure providers, which help us understand use of the Services, identify technical issues, prevent abuse, and measure our own marketing; and
- Business and licensing partners, such as information necessary to provide a particular licensed-character experience or administer a promotion.
Deidentified and aggregated information
We may create aggregated or deidentified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you. We may use and disclose that information for research, analytics, product development, and other lawful purposes. Where required by law, we will maintain deidentified information in deidentified form and will not attempt to reidentify it.
2. How We Use Personal Information
We may use personal information to:
- Provide, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot the Services;
- Generate companion responses, animations, voice, memories, recommendations, and proactive communications;
- Personalize your experience and maintain continuity across sessions and devices;
- Process subscriptions and transactions;
- Respond to support requests and communicate service-related information;
- Send notifications and, where permitted, marketing communications in accordance with your choices;
- Analyze use, evaluate performance, conduct research, and develop or improve features and AI systems;
- Monitor for harmful, fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful activity and enforce our terms and policies;
- Protect the rights, safety, and security of users, Daydream, and others;
- Comply with law, legal process, and valid governmental requests;
- Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims;
- Conduct corporate operations such as auditing, accounting, and due diligence; and
- Complete a financing, merger, acquisition, restructuring, asset sale, or similar corporate transaction.
3. AI Systems, Personalization, and Human Review
Daydream uses artificial intelligence and automated systems to generate responses, personalize interactions, create or retrieve memories, select when to send communications, moderate content, and support safety and security.
How interaction content is processed
We process your interaction content to provide the experience you request. Depending on the feature, this may include sending relevant content to service providers that host infrastructure or provide speech, language-model, image, animation, safety, search, or similar technical capabilities.
We may also use interactions and feedback to test, evaluate, develop, and improve Daydream's products and AI systems, including through training or fine-tuning. When appropriate, we take steps designed to minimize or deidentify personal information before using content for these purposes. You may ask us not to use your future interaction content for model improvement by emailing support@daydream.inc. We may still process content as necessary to provide the Services, maintain security, investigate abuse, and comply with law.
We do not permit third-party AI providers to use your private interaction content to train their general-purpose models for their own purposes unless you separately agree to that use.
Human review
Authorized Daydream personnel and service providers may review limited interaction content when reasonably necessary to provide support, investigate abuse or safety incidents, comply with law, or evaluate and improve quality. Access is limited based on role and purpose.
Inferences and automated decisions
Daydream may infer interests, preferences, mood, or other context from your interactions to personalize the Services. Daydream is not designed to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning employment, housing, credit, education, insurance, healthcare eligibility, or access to essential services.
AI-generated content may be inaccurate or inappropriate and should not be treated as professional medical, mental-health, legal, financial, or other expert advice.
4. Device Permissions and Screen-Aware Features
Some features require device permissions. Depending on your device and the features you use, Daydream may request access to:
- Microphone for voice interactions;
- Camera or photo library for visual interactions or content you choose to upload;
- Screen recording or screen sharing so a companion can respond to content visible on your screen;
- Notifications so a companion can reach out or provide service updates; and
- Connected apps or accounts to perform an action you request.
You can manage permissions in your device or app settings. Disabling a permission may prevent the related feature from working.
When a screen-aware feature is active, Daydream may process content visible on your screen, including content from third-party apps. Avoid displaying sensitive or confidential information that you do not want processed. We use screen content to provide the requested feature and for the other purposes described in this Privacy Policy. We do not use screen content for targeted advertising.
Unless we clearly tell you otherwise and obtain any consent required by law, Daydream does not use voice or image data to create biometric identifiers for the purpose of uniquely identifying you.
5. How We Disclose Personal Information
We may disclose personal information to the following categories of recipients:
- Service providers and contractors. Companies that provide cloud hosting, databases, AI and machine-learning infrastructure, speech or image processing, content delivery, analytics, crash reporting, security, communications, customer support, payment processing, and professional services. They may process information only for the services they provide to us, subject to contractual restrictions.
- Authentication, app-store, payment, and connected-service providers. When needed to support a sign-in method, transaction, integration, or action you request. Your use of a third-party service is also governed by that provider's terms and privacy policy.
- Character licensors and business partners. We may provide partners with aggregated or deidentified information about use of a licensed experience. We may disclose identifiable information when necessary to provide a co-branded feature, administer an offer, comply with licensing obligations, or when you direct or consent to the disclosure. We do not provide private conversation content to licensors for their independent advertising.
- Professional advisers. Lawyers, accountants, auditors, insurers, and other advisers where reasonably necessary for their services.
- Authorities and other parties for legal, safety, or security reasons. We may disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to comply with law or legal process; protect rights, property, or safety; investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents; or enforce our agreements.
- Parties to a corporate transaction. Potential or actual investors, acquirers, lenders, and advisers in connection with financing, due diligence, merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections where applicable.
- Other parties at your direction or with your consent.
6. Consumer Health and Other Sensitive Information
Daydream is not a healthcare provider and the Services are not a medical device or healthcare service. However, information you voluntarily share may reveal or allow inferences about physical or mental health or other sensitive matters.
We use sensitive information you voluntarily provide to deliver features you request, personalize your experience, maintain safety and security, and for other purposes permitted by law. We do not sell consumer health data, and we do not use private conversation content or consumer health data for targeted advertising.
Where applicable law requires consent before collecting or disclosing consumer health data, we will request that consent separately. Subject to applicable law, you may request access to or deletion of consumer health data or withdraw consent by contacting support@daydream.inc. If consent is withdrawn, we may no longer be able to provide features that depend on that information.
7. Marketing and Notifications
We may send service-related messages, such as security alerts, account notices, and information about material changes to the Services. You generally cannot opt out of service-related messages while maintaining an account.
With your permission or as otherwise allowed by law, we may send promotional emails or push notifications. You can unsubscribe from promotional emails using the link in the message and manage push notifications in your app or device settings. A companion's proactive messages may be part of the core Services; where controls are available, you can adjust their timing or frequency in the app.
8. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Our websites and applications may use cookies, pixels, software development kits, local storage, and similar technologies to:
- Keep the Services functioning and remember your settings;
- Authenticate users and protect against fraud or abuse;
- Understand how the Services are used and improve performance; and
- Measure the effectiveness of Daydream's own communications and marketing.
You can manage cookies through your browser or device settings and, where available, our cookie controls. Blocking certain technologies may affect functionality.
We do not sell personal information for money. As of the effective date of this Privacy Policy, we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined by California law, and we do not use private companion conversations for targeted advertising. If these practices change, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any notices and opt-out mechanisms required by law, including honoring legally recognized opt-out preference signals where required.
9. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect safety and security.
Our retention criteria generally include:
| Category | General retention criteria |
|---|---|
| Account and subscription information | While your account is active and afterward as needed for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, and dispute-resolution purposes. |
| Conversations, memories, and uploaded content | While needed to provide continuity and personalization, until you delete the content or your account, or as otherwise described in the relevant feature. Residual copies may remain temporarily in backups or where retention is legally required. |
| Voice, image, and screen content | For the time needed to provide the feature and, if the content or a derived memory is saved to your account, in accordance with your account or content controls. |
| Usage, diagnostic, and security information | For a period reasonably necessary to analyze performance, secure the Services, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. |
| Support and legal records | For as long as needed to address the request and maintain appropriate business and legal records. |
We may retain aggregated or deidentified information where permitted by law. Deleting your account may not immediately remove information from backups, and we may retain information where required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, and security.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Please use a strong, unique password, protect your devices and account credentials, and contact us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
11. International Data Transfers
Daydream is based in the United States, and we and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries whose data-protection laws may differ from those where you live.
Where required, we use recognized safeguards for international transfers, such as adequacy decisions, the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, the United Kingdom's International Data Transfer Addendum or Agreement, or other lawful transfer mechanisms. You may contact us to request more information about applicable safeguards.
12. Your Privacy Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live and subject to applicable exceptions, you may have the right to:

We may need to verify your identity before completing the request. We will use information submitted with the request only to verify and respond to it.
Where permitted by law, an authorized agent may submit a request for you. We may require proof of the agent's authority and may ask you to verify your identity directly. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision or emailing the same address with the subject line Privacy Appeal.
You can also manage certain information and choices through account, companion, permission, and device settings.
